JOIN Board meets in Brussels

Brussels, Belgium

On 25th October, the JOIN Board came together in Brussels for a regular meeting. Participants were our Chairman Mark Broughton (St John Ambulance), our Vice-Chairman Christian Velten-Jameson (Association des Œuvres de Saint-Jean), Lidwien van der Reep (Johanniter Nederland) and Johannes Bucher (Johanniter Austria). Christian Meyer-Landrut, who was co-opted at the AGM 2022, also attended the meeting.

The day began with our Chairman reporting on the Alliance Orders meeting held in Rome in early October. Our Vice-Chairman provided comprehensive financial information. The organisation of the AGM 2023 in Brussels was the next topic addressed, and the Board is looking forward to physically meeting again with JOIN delegates from 19th to 21st May.

The meeting continued with discussions on the massive effort of all JOIN members to deliver material, medical and financial aid to Ukrainian refugees. The JOIN Office gave feedback on the working groups’ activities, including upcoming opportunities within the Volunteer Swap programme.

Finally, an update was provided on the implementation of the European MED1stMR project, developing innovative mixed-reality training for medical first responders.
