Alliance of the Orders of St John meeting in London

From 14th to 16th May, the Order of St John hosted the triennial Alliance and Joint Orders meeting at the historic St John’s Gate in London. This event brought together senior representatives of the Five recognised Orders of St John:

  • The Johanniterorden
  • The Order of St John (host)
  • The Johanniter Orde in Nederland
  • The Johanniterorden i Sverige
  • The Sovereign Military Order of Malta

Among the delegates who convened to discuss ongoing initiatives and strengthen cooperation was Christian Velten-Jameson, Chairman of Johanniter International. The meeting addressed a range of topics, with a focus on collaborative efforts in war-affected regions like Ukraine and the Middle East. Highlights included the Mission Siret initiative, launched by the Johanniterorden to provide humanitarian aid in Ukraine and now supported by all Alliance members. Emergency aid in Gaza and the region was also further discussed.

This rare assembly symbolises the unity and shared mission of the Five Orders as they reaffirmed their historic ties and collective service ethos.
