Board & Secretariat

According to the statutes of JOIN, the members of the Board (or “Conseil d’administration” in French) are elected by the Annual General Assembly for a period of two years. The current board was elected at the General Meeting in October 2021 for a term of two years.

The JOIN Secretariat is located in Brussels, at the heart of decision making in the European Union. This enables the office to observe relevant European policy developments at first hand and report these back to its members, as well as to advocate the positions and interests of JOIN and its member organisations directly to decision makers.

The Secretariat also acts as a communication and information centre for JOIN members, e.g. by publishing the monthly newsletter JOINews, by running an informative website and by replying to enquiries on European matters put forward by JOIN’s members. The JOIN Office identifies relevant EU funding opportunities for its members.

In addition, the Secretariat maintains close contact with NGO partners, the Brussels offices of national and regional representations and with the members of the Orders of St John who work and live in the “European capital”.
