On 23rd May, representatives from Austria, Denmark, France, Jerusalem, Malta and Switzerland were hosted by our Maltese member in its main office in Valletta. Johanniter Nederland and St John Cymru joined the meeting online.
The day opened with an exchange on the latest online fundraising activities implemented by each organisation. This was followed by a discussion on recent legislative developments related to the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. While the directive had initially outlined new environmental and social reporting obligations for large companies, recent changes have introduced uncertainty about its implementation. Despite this, JOIN members agreed to continue on the previously established course and to use the directive as an opportunity to raise their visibility and profile with larger corporations.

Johanniter Austria reported on the latest edition of the Christmas Trucker initiative and extended an invitation to all JOIN members to take part in the 2025 edition.
In the afternoon session, St John Eye Hospital shared a comprehensive update on the situation in Gaza and the broader region and presented their ongoing response to the lasting humanitarian crisis. Participants reported on the assistance already provided and explored additional ways to further support our member from Jerusalem.
The meeting concluded with a roundtable in which each organisation shared insights into their current national-level fundraising initiatives. The JOIN Office also provided an overview of its recent and upcoming activities.
