Fourth physical meeting of the Erasmus+ project PROBANT

Following several online meetings in recent weeks, the fourth face-to-face meeting of the Erasmus+ project PROBANT was held at the premises of Johanniter International in Brussels.

Over two intensive working days, medical and educational experts continued developing age-appropriate First Aid learning materials for children aged 8 to 12. The focus was placed on reviewing and refining the newly produced illustrations to ensure they are engaging, clear, and pedagogically effective.

The materials will soon be translated into French and piloted this spring at the Belgian school ‘Institut des Sacrés-Cœurs’ in Waterloo. The feedback gathered during the testing phase will help further improve the final version of the toolkit.

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, the project PROBANT stands for Premiers secours européens pour enfants. It is developing innovative educational materials introducing First Aid to children in the age groups 8 to 12.

The expected effects in children are (1) awareness-raising of the importance of health, (2) empowerment through attention to one’s own well-being and caring for sick or injured people, (3) increased social engagement, (4) improved skills in the field of health and, in the long term, better employability.
