From 15th to 16th June, the consortium of the MED1stMR project held its Kick-off Meeting virtually.
Over fifty participants from the 19 partners met online for joint introduction and strategy planning commencing the three-year project. Led by the Austrian Institute of Technology, the meeting detailed the project background and assembled the expertise of researchers, developers and practitioners needed to create a mixed-reality training system for medical first responders. Besides the consortium, experts and practitioners from the project’s External Advisory Board joined the meeting. Its members will share results and knowledge and provide input, ensuring a broader pan-European multicultural and multinational dimension of the project.
After providing a comprehensive overview of the project structure, the partners discussed end-user needs, technical requirements and system architecture, the mixed reality environment for first responder training, vital data management, evaluation and trials, as well as further mixed reality (MR) education concepts. The JOIN office will engage its network and disseminate, exploit and communicate the project results, innovation opportunities and synergies with related projects in the field of situational MR training.
The sessions let the partners set forth the initial steps to take in each working package and also framed the legal and ethical requirements of the actions.
The Kick-off Meeting facilitated the teamwork among the consortium and will be followed by regular meetings.
