Volunteer Swap in Finland

Founded in 2010, Johanniter Finland is the youngest member of JOIN. Its services include humanitarian aid and care for the elderly, sick and needy, as well as first aid and CPR training. Its volunteers also provide care and relief work.

The Project

The European Athletics U23 Championships is a biennial athletics competition for European athletes under the age of 23, which is organized by the European Athletic Association. The Finnish city of Espoo, situated just to the west of Helsinki, will be staging this year’s edition of the European Athletics U23 Championships, a key stepping stone for athletes who have just graduated from the U20 ranks.

Highlights at the last edition in Tallinn included Kristjan Ceh and Yaroslava Mahuchikh winning gold with championship records in the discus and high jump respectively. Mahuchikh also remains eligible to defend her title in the high jump by virtue of a 2001 birthdate.

The Volunteer will work as a first aider with Finnish colleagues to provide safety to athletes, spectators, and officials
