The Soccorso dell’ Ordine di San Giovanni (S.O.G.IT) was founded in 1977. Its core competences comprise rescue, transport and medical services, first aid training, youth work and care for persons with disabilities. Its volunteers are spread among 16 regional organisations that mainly operate in Northern Italy.
The Project
From 14th to 17th September the 37th edition of the International Biker Fest will take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro. The Bike Week regularly attracts tens of thousands of visitors (80,000 visitors in 2022) and in 2023 includes tests of the newest “Off Road and Adventure” vehicles. the event will be the ideal stage for all the official Motorcycle Manufacturers who let the public try out their new ranges on special dirt tracks. The week includes a custom Bike show, demo rides, off-road courses, a night parade, helicopters, the Rally-Race-Rock Festival, and over 15 concerts. The Volunteer
The volunteer: A maximum of two volunteers will join the volunteers of the SOGIT Lignano Sabbiadoro and take care of the bikers’ medical needs. The times will be from early morning to late at night, which can be done in shifts.

Volunteers over the age of 18 with training and experience in prehospital emergency medical treatment or medical services at Events (for example, Paramedic, EMT, First Aider). Standard vaccinations for medical staff are required, volunteers will receive detailed information upon request.

The Project
The International Triathlon has been going on in Lignano for the last 10 years. It attracts hundreds of people who will endure the three sport specialties, including a nice cold swim in the Adriatic sea!
S.O.G.IT is called to support the event from a medical perspective, with three ambulances.

The Volunteer
A maximum of two volunteers will join the team of the SOGIT Lignano Sabbiadoro and take care of the runners’ medical needs. About 12 voluntary healthcare providers are on duty during the two days, from 10.00 until 14.00.
