As a young organisation, Johanniterhjälpen exists since 2005. Its large voluntary basis carries out many different projects, for example, first aid training and medical services at cultural and sport events.
The Project
Johanniterhjälpen will provide first aid, including automatic external defibrillators (AED), to the spectators of the annual open-air music event Sweden Rock Festival. The festival started in 1992 and has since then developed into one of the most important rock and metal festivals in the world, with 35,000 annual visitors from more than 50 different countries.
Acts like Iron Maiden, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Guns ‘n ‘ Roses, Rush, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Accept, Alice Cooper, Soundgarden, Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, Volbeat, ZZ Top, Sabaton and In Flames have all played at Sweden Rock over the years, more information about the event here (https://www.swedenrock.com/en/)
The Volunteers
A maximum of six volunteers will participate together with Swedish Johanniterhjälpen volunteers.
Where?
Norje, outside the city of Sölvesborg, by the Baltic Sea in the south of Sweden.
When?
From 5th to 8th June 2024. Participation on all four days would be appreciated.
Who can apply?
All St John volunteers aged over 18.
Qualification in First Aid required.
Languages: English or Swedish.
