The Volunteer Swap is an intercultural and international exchange programme for all volunteers of JOIN member organisations. It emphasises the value of volunteering for society and enables its participants to gain new experiences within the international JOIN family.
Johanniter International member organisations invite volunteers from other countries to support them doing their job. Johanniter International refunds 50% of the travel costs up to 250 €. The volunteers are usually provided with food and accommodation.

From Thursday, August 21 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, Johanniter Austria once again ensured medical safety at the traditional Neustifter Kirtag in Vienna. Their teams were supported by three German volunteers who joined their colleagues for a week.
